This category is for any KTV member who has appeared on screen, who deserves particular recognition for their overall presentation style and skills, including production and rapport with their audience.

Best Off-Screen Contribution

BRIEF

This category recognises any member of KTV who has made a significant impact behind the scenes. This could have been in a number of ways including (but not limited to) production, directing, research, or marketing, as well as promotion, volunteering for the technical team, and planning and organising events.

You can nominate yourself or someone else for this category.

CRITERIA

  • Written: A written rationale justifying why you/the nominee should win this award.

– You should include examples of how you/the nominee have contributed to the development of the station, contribution to ongoing activities within the station, as well as highlighting any successes or achievements.

– Limit: 3000 characters (with spaces)

  • Optional: If any contributions, successes or achievements highlighted in your rationale had a significant impact on a particular instance of station output, such as production for a show, invention of a concept, creation of web or online content, or design of an image, for example, you should show evidence.

– A video must be uploaded to YouTube as ‘Public’ or ‘Unlisted’

– Maximum Video Duration: 5 minutes

– Images must be uploaded in JPEG or PNG format, maximum 2.5MB

Best Show

BRIEF

This category recognises programming that forms part of the station’s output with a particular emphasis on the items and content within, acknowledging the person or persons responsible for devising, writing and producing them.

Examples include regular programmes, one-off special shows, entertainment shows, news and current affairs and documentaries.

You may only nominate a show that you have worked on for this category. If multiple nominations are received for a single show, only the first entry will be counted. Cast/crew for a show should work together to submit the best nomination rather than submitting separate nominations.

CRITERIA

  • Video: A video showreel (clip or montage)/or an individual episode

– Uploaded to YouTube as ‘Public’ or ‘Unlisted’

– Maximum Video Duration: 5 Minutes

– It’s worth noting that montages/showreels tend to fare better than individual episodes as there is more to judge on and you won’t risk losing the judge’s interest in a less ‘exciting’ part!

  • Written: A rationale explaining what you are proud of, the context behind the show and your favourite thing about making the show, and justifying why it should win.

– Limit: 3000 characters (with spaces)

Best Drama

BRIEF

This category recognises those who have created a short film or drama series for KTV. Whether it’s a drama or a comedy, this category will acknowledge acting, cinematography, production and script writing.

You may only nominate a screenplay that you have worked on for this category. If multiple nominations are received for a single screenplay, only the first entry will be counted. Cast/crew for a screenplay should work together to submit the best nomination rather than submitting separate nominations.

  • Video: Either a particular clip from a drama/comedy, a montage of best bits, or a trailer. The production must have been produced and filmed between May 2018 and March 2019.

– Uploaded to YouTube as ‘Public’ or ‘Unlisted’

– Maximum Video Duration: 10 Minutes

  • Written: A rationale explaining what you are proud of, the context behind the showreel and any techniques, craft, or particular elements of the video that you want to highlight as evidence of your work, and justifying why it should win. For Drama films, please also include a synopsis of the film and any standout scenes that have been shot and edited, in the case of the film not being completed yet.

– Limit: 3000 characters (with spaces)

Best Newcomer

BRIEF

This category is for a member of KTV who has been involved for the first time (a new member since 1st August 2018). It recognises the work of presenters, cameramen, editors and/or producers who have significantly contributed to the performance of KTV and the development of the station.
